Apologies for my lack of posts for a couple of weeks — I’ve been rather busy, and Vancouver has been in a fairly constant state of overcast and rainy weather (which unfortunately doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for a while!)
When we had a clear evening, I grabbed the chance to get out and take some shots. This photo was taken outside the Bridges restaurant on Granville Island. I really liked the strings of lights over this open area outside the restaurant, and wanted to capture those, the restaurant and the city across the water.
After trying a few shots I decided that I really needed a wider image than I could fit into a single shot to get the composition I wanted, so this is a four shot vertical panorama. On the left of the photo is the Burrard Bridge, with the some of the West End buildings beyond. On the right is the restaurant, with a stunning view across the water.
If you look closely, you can see some stars in the sky above the city.
