Skies Painted with Unnumbered Sparks (2)

Another photograph of 'Skies Painted with Unnumbered Sparks’, a 745-foot interactive sculpture by Janet Echelman that has been suspended between the Convention Centre and Canada Place for the duration of the 2014 TED conference.

Getting this panoramic shot required some tricky contortions with my tripod, and resulted in the photographer I was shooting with, Barry, to comment that my camera might end up in the Vancouver Harbour before the night was over!

I did not expect to be able to make anything of this panorama, as the tripod was extremely unstable and wobbly, and I was having issues keeping the camera level, but surprisingly it went together without any issues. I really like this view from the 'far side’ of the railing, showing the sculpture hanging over the TED sign in the Convention Centre entrance.
