The Orpheum in Vancouver is a theatre and music venue on Granville Street, a major street running through the middle of downtown Vancouver.
The Orpheum originally opened in 1927, and has undergone several ownership changes, but despite a threat in the 1970s to turn it into a multiplex movie theatre, today it has been restored and is the home of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
This is a 15-shot, 3-exposure HDR panorama (i.e. comprising of 45 photos in total) using the Sigma 10–20mm lens at 10mm. As can be seen, significant distortion is required to display this as a 'flat’ image — the edge of the stage visible at the bottom left and right is, of course, straight.
The approximate field of view of this image is 225° horizontal and 150° vertical.
